Airport tours

While the Mitchell Gallery of Flight Museum does not provide formal tours, it is open during normal airport hours (when flights are scheduled). Tours of General Mitchell International Airport are available to groups by prior appointment and the museum can be included on that tour. For tour information and appointments, contact the Airport Administration office at 414-747-5300.

Located at the south end of the terminal, adjacent to the Mitchell Gallery’s west wall

The program will cover Milwaukee’s Kearny & Trecker Corporation and its production and marketing of a twin engine amphibian, named the Royal Gull, by K&T’s subsidiary, Trecker Aircraft Corporation.

Between 1956 and 1961, Trecker assembled and marketed in North America an Americanized version of the Italian Piaggio P.136, twin-engine amphibian. Production took place at K&T’s General Mitchell Field hangar on Howell Avenue.

Our speaker will be Carl Koeling, whose father had led K&T’s corporate aviation department and was its chief pilot.
